The number of full electric vehicles (EVs) is rapidly growing and, as a result, the charging infrastructure is also expanding, including DC fast charging stations, which have the attractive capability of providing the vehicle with a 100km driving range in just 10-12 minutes. While architectures based on renewable sources and battery storage technologies – to take charging stations off-grid - are emerging, mainstream solutions are fed from the grid and a converter – in the range of 120kW or more - has a 3-phase input Power Factor Correction (PFC) stage and an isolated DC-DC converter. DC Charging stations also provide secure connectivity and authentication with the vehicle.
EV Charging - DC Fast Charging Stations
The increasing number of Electric Vehicles (EVs) on the roads brought about the need for more charging stations, including DC fast charging stations and CHAdeMO-compliant fast charging stations. DC fast charging stations provide vehicles with level-
